Structured Family Caregiving With Because We Care Home Care
At Because We Care Home Care, we’re proud to offer the Structured Family Caregiving (SFC) program—a supportive option for Georgia families caring for a senior or disabled loved one at home. This program provides financial compensation and professional support to eligible family caregivers.
You may qualify if:
- You live with the person as the primary caregiver
- Are related biologically as a daughter, grandson, etc. or are related through marriage as a daughter-in-law, son-in-law, etc.
- The person you take care of is Georgia Medicaid-eligible and participates under the CCSP or SOURCE waiver program
Please note that spouses of waiver participants or legal guardians are not eligible for compensation.
Who is Eligible
Who is Eligible to Receive Care?
The person you take care of must meet the following criteria:
- Need assistance with daily living activities such as feeding, dressing, bathing, and more
- Be Medicaid-eligible in Georgia
- Be a participant in the CCSP or SOURCE Waiver Program
- Lives with the person providing their daily care
SFC Program Requirements for Providing Care At Home
To qualify as a family caregiver for payment under the SFC program, you must:
- Be dedicated to providing caregiving services at home
- Cannot have employment outside the home
- Cannot run a business from the home such as an online store
What Daily Tasks for Taking Care of a Family Member Qualify for the Stipend?
Caregivers may qualify by providing daily tasks. Examples are:
Meal preparation
Eating
Bathing
Dressing
Other activities of daily living
Getting in and out of bed
Transportation to and from appointments
Moving around the house
Getting into and out of chairs
As a caregiver under our SFC program, you’ll receive:
- Tax-free, financial stipend paid weekly and direct deposited for your caregiving services
- Coaching and guidance from our professional health coach
- Daily personalized care plan to follow developed for your loved one by our medical staff
- Telephone and email access to direct connect you with your health coach
